DW-TV euromaxx: Here we Go - World Cup Training

Well we didn't manage to get accreditation for the opening match but we did see the Allianz arena from the outside. I can't show you what it looks like for copyright reasons but think great big luminescent tyre lying on its side. We did get into (the much more beautiful) Olympic stadium, where Germany, or should I say West Germany, won the World Cup in 1974. Unfortunately someone had stolen the pitch. Moving on to the Fan Fest in the Olympic park there were plenty of World Cup reporters from all over the world willing to give plenty of good advice. Apparently I have to smile more, according to my Vietnamese colleague. I am here, apparently, in place of millions of viewers who would love to be in my place and I need to transmit the atmosphere to the audience back home. My efforts to learn the names of players isn't going very well but I did have a go at commentating and I got some positive feedback. I think I'm just about ready. So bring on the Big Cup!
