Fathead Newman plays Hard Times on alto, from the album "Ray Charles Presents Fathead" on Atlantic Records ca. 1959. Jazz on the Boulevard Ft. Worth, Tx 9/22/07. Blues, blues, blues! You can hear the influence of Buster Smith, fellow Dallasite and mentor to Charlie Parker, in Fathead's tone and style on alto. Mmmmm, tasty. Pardon the shaky camera and my "yeah!", but I was excited!

That's all you have to say? At least spell "heroin" right...jeez. yeah, I'm sure Fathead put the needle in his arm every time and "made him" an addict. Check the picture of the two of them as old friends in the Ray tribute CD Fathead put out recently-obviously Ray "resents" him...Get a life.
