you guys are right on, the reason Nas is so good is because he makes music the actually means something. The stuff the come out with today sounds like they should sing it to a 4 year old. you put these words together and they mean nothing. i havent really listened to rap the last couple of years because of shit like that. thank you nas for taking pride in your songs. love the new album

Exactly,yu took the words right out of my mouth.Souljah Boy is just a corprate mass marketing kid -used for the cash.Basically hes a puppet to the media. Artists like Nas,Lupe,etc, they're the ones keeping music alive cuz they are actually passionate about it.They dont make music just cuz they're trying to make a millie. People like Souljah boy just do it for the gold chains, so they put useless words to garbage beats & sell it.I agree with yu a hundred percent.

....There's always been commercial artists branding themselves Hip-Hop, look at Vanilla Ice, Kurtis Blow etc. The only difference today is the power media has to create fake artists overnight in their masses to make money. It's the mass media giving the genre a bad name! There's so many real artists not being signed because the record lables can't see them appealing to the larger audience! (couldn't fit it all in one comment). On a positive level- classic track!!

Good comment 'Belleiive'. Hip-Hop is far from dead! I think it's the confusion over what hip-hop is, Soulja Boy for example isn't hip-hop, it's meant for the commercial market. It's the classification of artists such Soulja Boy being branded hip-hop that gives the genre a bad name and degrades it! So anybody saying hip-hop's dead is listening to the wrong artists, theres artists like Common, The Roots, Mos Def, Talib Kweli & so many more that are still consistently releasing real hip-hop!
