Alice In Chains are supposed to be making another album now, not sure who the singer is though. Gonna be tough to replace Layne(R.I.P.). I agree with you guys on how music has went down hill over the past 10-20 years, AIC was awesome along with a lot of the "grunge" bands but got shoved out by the "current trends" of the record companies.

what happened is the same thing that happened in the 80's to hair metal. The record companies are putting bands together based on an image ( greenday, fallout boy etc.) not on the sheer talent and godliness of AIC and others.

i disagree with the last two comments, metal and the best of grunge alice in chains and soundgarden are very alike. just hear me out on this one. lets say in this great song and like welcome home by metallica the lyrics are both very very POWERFUL, the only difference is between the instruments and i don't understand were u guys say that metal is less skilled or can not compare to grunge, grunge is like metal but is simple with less speed,length,solos,double bass, just explain what you mean?

i listen to a lot of stuff like metal. but i haveto admit when i listen to seattle grunge like alice and nirvana it reminds me how pathetic and skill-less metal is compared to this stuff.
