I have the 7.62x39 16" rifle...can't converted since I'm in CA but it is by far one of the best "sleeper" Semi-rifle out there! I like the bigger bullet as it hits the metal plates creates a nice spark. Fun and easy gun to shoot. I do wish my stock is a tad shorter for faster handling.

I am looking to buy a hand gun for person protection. I was wondering if you had any recommendations.

They're pretty common at gun shows and larger dealers, especially those not focused on hunting. They're not imported with the pistol grip stock, and you'll need to have it changed or do it yourself, which can run about $150 for the conversion parts and a trigger group for 922r compliance. And the .223 can use the Galil magazines with little or no modification, as well, so there's some 35 and 50 round magazines available, as well.

hell yea man, at my local gunshop a month ago in tennessee, ak variants were around 250-330. Now they are 400 and up.

I feel sorry for you. Mine (Oregon), is $20 if you buy at a gunshop, and nothing if you purchase privately (legal).

Yeah... Its getting real hard to get decent firearms in California. Its 125.00 Plus 35.00 for the backround check. Its almost not worth it.

God damn - You're getting ripped off - My local FFL charges $25.00 for transfers -

Cheapest I found was 293.00 for the .223 and have to pay shipping / FFL dealer tranfer fees. My local "Turners Outdoorsman" charges 125.00
